The Head of State His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II has appointed Friday 9th of April 2021 as the official date “…for the General Election of Members of Parliament for all Constituencies.”
His Highness issued the Writ for the General Election 2021 today Tuesday 9th of March 2021 under Section 52 of the Electoral Act 2019.
The Writ directs the Office of the Electoral Commission to serve public notice of the deadline for withdrawal of candidates nomination on Friday 26th March 2021.
It sets out also the pre-polling period for Monday 5th April to Thursday 8th April 2021.
The return of Writ must be in by Friday 23 April 2021.
