GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY ; Today’s court scene for FAST Party Chairman MP Laauli Fosi Schmidt, facing criminal charges of conspiracy filed by the Ministry of Police.
By Staff Writer
Court proceedings started off today for MP Laauli Fosi Schmidt, on conspiracy charges filed against him by the Ministry of Police.
The legal complaints are related directly to police investigations of the unsolved death of a young male in a hit and run road death a while back.
These are the same legal charges that led directly to the split in the political party and the Government in a lingering leadership crisis.
Prime Minister Fiame Mataafa heads one faction and Laauli as Chairman of the party leads the other.
Both do not have the numbers to form a Government.
The PM Fiame has left the final decision on what next in the Government leadership on Parliament to vote on.
Parliament was in session a few days ago but adjourned without addressing the leadership issue.
Court proceedings underway on criminal charges against MP Laauli is being called again towards the end of the week on Friday.
