Early candidates registrations and the taunting challenge by the Prime Minister for other political parties to sign up their election flag bearers, is sending a different signal to the leader of the Tautua Samoa political party.
“ To us it is a give-away sign from the Prime Minister that the early registration is because they are worried,” Tautua Samoa party leader, Afualo Wood Salele, told Newsline Samoa.
“What’s happening now is the Prime Minister’s heart is beating faster about their winning chances in the general elections next year.”
Afualo says it is unusual for the HRPP to hold early candidate registrations for the general elections.
For the Tautua Samoa Party, it is not in any rush, taking its good time to get their plans moving.
“ We have organised and registered our own candidates but we are not to name them for now.
“Still, it’s a laugh to hear the HRPP boast of the close to 100 candidates they have registered so far because it doesn’t worry our political party.”
Afualo said they sense the worry in the tone of the Prime Minister with the call for other parties to show how many candidates they have as they have registered already as they done.
“There is no business for one political party to dictate to other parties that have set out their own election plans to follow with their candidates.
“It’s easy to sense from the PM’s tone that his heartbeat is also weakening unlike the sure beat it used to have.”
Afualo accused the Government leader of arrogance with his election talk.
He added that the Tautua Samoa is not taking the general elections challenge lightly because of concerns for the difficult times the country is going through.
His major worry is the impact of the proposed bills for changes to the Constitution at present under review by the Parliament Select Committee.
“Any plans that are not well thought out will not end well if it will not hinder and harm rather than allow for progress to move along without holding the country to ransom.”
The opposition party leader ridiculed the Prime Minister for his attempts to psych out other political parties to hide his own fears and worries for the general elections.
Afualo is confident of success with their faith and trust in the guidance of the Lord in the work they are committed to do for the general elections next year.
The Tautua Samoa is the better known of all the political parties already registered to challenge the ruling HRPP when the electors go to the polls next year.
