Why is it that when the Speaker calls on members to say yay only those on the side of Govt. responds while the other side cannot be bothered?
An interesting point! It was a Govt. MP who wanted to know.
Makes one worry how many of our newcomers in Parliament know what the dickens is going on.
At least for this new MP he was brave enough to ask out loud. One of the senior MPs on the other side did tell him why.
“In our case it’s our choice whether we say yay or nay,” the new MP was told.
Hopefully the other newer MPs listening in now know they have a choice.
They don’t have to say yay or nay every time the Speaker calls for them to do so.
But careful though! If they’re a Govt. MP and it’s a must they say yay ….it better be yay.
Can’t have the party enforcer checking up on your loyalties to the party cause.
Man is known for dangling people in his big fingers with sweet nonsense that will leave you wondering if you’re a fool or not.
Maybe it’ll be better for all those new Govt. MPs to stay with what they’re doing now – follow the leader.
“…… no time to snore for these poor rookie MPs, dear?
