Buyer parked on the side of the road only a few meters from a street seller of fresh fish. A variety of fish were piled according to sizes along the makeshift selling counter.
A young girl stood stepped up from behind the table where the other sellers were sitting. The buyer walked up and started pointing to the fish for the girl seller to call out the prices.
“3, 4, 6,” the seller called out. The buyer paused briefly and then pointed to the 6 fish.
The seller flipped out a plastic bag and placed the fish inside as the buyer took out $10 and handed it out.
The seller gave the money note a questioning look and then glanced up to the buyer.
There was an awkward moment as the buyer with the extended hand wondered why the seller wasn’t reaching out for the money in exchange for the fish.
“Sir, it is $60 not $6,” the seller said.
“Hey you said 6 where did the zero come from,” the shocked buyer stammered. Even more shocking to the poor buyer was the fish was hardly a foot long.
