Can’t quite remember the last time our PM was addressed as President.

Well, that is until today, Friday 21 April 2023.

There’s an urgent note from the UK Foreign Office with a last minute regret that the British Foreign Secretary  is giving Samoa a miss in a planned visit to meet with our PM.

The man was making a bee-line to NZ instead so he can rush back to attend to pressing royal matters at home.

Here read this : “I have expressed my regret and intention to do everything possible to meet again soon with President Fiame.”

Why would a veteran politician mistake our Prime Minister for President.  It’s confusing because we in Samoa follow the British system by calling our government leader Prime Minister.

Maybe if we’re following the American system we’d be calling our lady PM Madam President or President Fiame but we’re not.

“….fair enough but president does have a ring to it , dear
