There’s a story circulating of a prominent Samoan who traveled a long way to attend a high level meeting of Government officials in an Asian destination.
It was reportedly a one day session but our distinguished delegate who had to catch connecting flights took almost a whole day to arrive.
By the time our distinguished representative finally sat down at the meeting, delegates were packing up to leave. Some were in a rush to catch their flights home.
The question asked by almost all who were told the story is who paid for our Samoan delegate’s travel, accommodations and allowances?
What was puzzling to everyone is the delegate had the choice of saving on the expense and hassles of the long travel by attending the meeting via virtual link, from the comforts of home in Samoa?
Indeed. Most puzzling.
