The visit by China’s foreign affairs minister to our little corner of the world attracted a lot of international media interest.
The man didn’t say very much though.
No big surprise really. When the western media is hanging on to your every word to slot into conspiracy news stories about China taking over the Pacific, better to stay on the safe side.

Just sign up to some bilateral assistance as it was done in Apia and leave it there. Let your generous actions speak for itself when assistance is given.
Keep in mind that we too in Samoa have been loud mouthed at times when it comes to China.
It was only last year when bad talk floated everywhere in and out of Samoa about the Chinese buying up our customary land under a constitutional loophole made by the previous Govt.
It was all over the place before the general elections and then died away very quickly when the voting results came out and a new Govt. was in place.
Wonder why? Must have been something to do with winning votes.
