BEAUTY HOPES ON HER SHOULDERS : Miss Samoa Litara Ieremia Alan with the hopes of a second consecutive hold by Samoa on the Miss Pacific Islands title.

A better understanding of her own home culture and of other Pacific Island countries, could be a winning tilt for Miss Litara Ieremia Alan as the new Miss Pacific Islands.

The reigning Miss Samoa will need to brush up well on her selected interview topic, to impress the judges of the regional beauty contest,

The 24 year old is one of 8 beauty contestants in the running for the prestigious title.

The others are from Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Solomon Islands, American Samoa, Kiribati and Cook Is.

Miss Samoa is officially contestant  No.2  and is already with all the other contestants in the host country for this year, Solomon Is. 

The girls have been taken part in a host of activities at the start of the week in the build up to the crowning night on Saturday, 8 February 2025 Solomon Is. time.

Hospital and cultural centre visits have been done so far with the reigning Miss Pacific Island, Moemoana Schwenke taking the lead.

The reigning beauty queen has expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the host country for the support and hospitality.

The general public is involved in the judging with the casting of popularity votes starting last Monday and continue up to Saturday.

 Miss Tonga is slightly ahead of Miss Samoa in the early voting count as the pair takes the lead over the rest of the contestants.

The Miss Pacific 2025 is being promoted under the theme “Leadership in diversity and adversity”

The focus is directed into highlighting the strength and resilience of Pacific Women.

The major categories the contestants are being judged on is pre-pageant Interview, introduction, sarong, talent, traditionally Inspired Wear, and stage interview.

Samoa is credited with the creation of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant to promote the cultures of the Pacific Islands region. 

The pageant was originally called the Miss South Pacific Pageant when it was established in 1987.

 In 2014, the pageant was renamed to reflect the entire Pacific region.
