BSP Financial Group Ltd (BSP) is honoured to be the Anchor Partner of the 2024 Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) at CHOGM Samoa, affirming its support and commitment to making financial services more accessible across the South Pacific.
The CBF will be held this month on the 23rd and 24th as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Apia, Samoa. This global leadership event will unite 56 Commonwealth nations, offering a platform for collaboration and sustainable development that will positively impact the Pacific and beyond.
Mark Robinson, BSP Group CEO, remarked, “BSP’s purpose has always centred around supporting the communities in which we operate. Our partnership with the CBF reflects our ongoing dedication towards enhancing financial inclusion and driving economic prosperity. This forum provides us with a unique opportunity to engage with global leaders on how we can shape the future of sustainable growth for our people.”
For decades, BSP has been at the forefront of initiatives that improve access to education, including financial literacy and healthcare across the South Pacific. BSP will join key discussions at the CBF. The first topic will focus on how we can provide more access to finance and how it can be scaled accordingly, and the second topic will focus on our SMEs and supporting growth for this important sector.
Addressing these topics and issues and exploring macro trends and solutions, reaffirms BSP’s focus on improving economic opportunities for our SMEs and providing better access to finance for the people in the South Pacific.
“BSP has introduced, in partnership with Australian Business Volunteers, a business development program, aimed at expanding SMEs operations and enhancing their business skills. So far, BSP has supported 269 entrepreneurs across Fiji and PNG, highlighting our support towards shaping a better future economic landscape.” Robinson added.
As the Anchor Partner of the CBF, BSP brings unparalleled experience and expertise to the table, ensuring that the voices and challenges of Pacific communities are represented at the global level. BSP looks forward to contributing to discussions that will empower the South Pacific region.
CHOGM is currently underway in Apia, Samoa and will include the People’s, Youth and Women’s forum.
