BSP Samoa | In empowering students in Samoa with enhanced educational technology, BSP has successfully delivered a significant community project valued at ST$35,315 to Solosolo Primary School on Wednesday 12th July 2023.
The project encompasses a donation of 15 computers, each equipped with anti-virus programs, with 8 Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), complimented with a 6 month 200GB free data from Vodafone, enabling seamless connectivity and online learning opportunities.
The official handover amidst great enthusiasm and anticipation as BSP Samoa Director and General Manager Offshore Branches (GMOSB), Taituuga Maryann Lameko-Vaai, BSP Samoa Country Manager Tunumafono Jennifer Fruean, BSP Samoa Management, high chiefs of Solosolo and representatives from Solosolo Primary school and the local community bear witness to the handover ceremony.
Country Manager Tunumafono Jennifer Fruean when addressing the school highlighted BSPs continued partnerships and community landmarks across the region.
“Since 2016, the BSP Samoa has delivered close to 10 major community projects to schools, hospitals, churches and community groups in Samoa. These projects include delivering water tanks, installation of solar lights for schools, building of a kitchen and dining area for SVSG and other schemes.”
“BSP takes immense pride in initiating these community projects that benefits communities, especially to schools for the young generation. The completion of this community project signifies another significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between BSP and the community. It serves as a testament to the power of public-private partnerships in fostering positive change and driving educational advancement,” added Fruean.
Solosolo Primary School Principal Amituanai Aukusitino Leota also thanked BSP for the remarkable project saying, “The commencement of this initiative has inspired the school to convert their library into a computer room and refurbish their school building. This will boost students learning experience providing a convenient study environment with tools and skills necessary to thrive in the digital age. Moreover, encourage teachers to deliver lessons with ease.”
BSP Samoa Director and General Manager Offshore Branches (GMOSB), Taituuga Maryann Lameko-Vaai also present at the occasion, officiated the ribbon-cutting to formally hand over the project to the School.
