The re-opening of Samoa’s travel borders is encouraging for visiting ANZ Bank top executive with the promise of economic recovery for the country.

The excited reaction by the bank’s Regional Executive Pacific, Ms. Sara Stubbings, followed meetings with several influential members of the local community in Apia including the Central Bank Governor.

“There was a sense of cautious optimism as the country reopens its borders and we look forward to being a part of the recovery,” Ms Stubbings said.

“ANZ has been in Samoa for more than 30 years and it is one of our core Pacific markets.

“It was touching to see the community impact that ANZ has had in Samoa and to see us supporting and growing with our customers and our people.”

While in Apia the visiting bank executive fitted a quick visit to some of the local attractions like Mt. Vaea, overlooking the township.

“Apia was buzzing and the view from Mount Vaea was breathtaking, so I can’t wait to return and see more of this incredible country,” Ms Stubbings said.
