A male teenager who was video taped getting a physical beating while his hands and legs were tied has filed an official complaint with the police.
Senior police spokesman, Aupaau Logoitino Filipo, confirmed the complaint now under investigation by the teenage boy and his family.
The video clip was shared widely on social media and showed the blurred image of the tied up teenager on the ground.
Police appealed for any information from the general public on the group beating that also resulted in the complainants coming forth.
The visual quality of the recording was dark and badly blurred he could be heard pleading with his assailants for mercy.
In the final seconds of the video he was seen assaulted while on his feet.
Police spokesman Aupaau said they knew of the video clip but there were no official complaints at the time until now.
“The teenage lives in the urban township and his identity is withheld while the incident is under investigation,” he confirmed.
Police are interested in learning the identity of the person who uploaded the video clip to assist with their investigation.
The person witnessed the whole incident.
“We need the support of the public with any information they can give us.”
There were earlier claims that the 19-year-old teenage male who died at the weekend from Fiaga had no connection with the one in the video.
“ The Fiaga violence has led to the arrest of two suspects charged with murder.”
Aupaau also confirmed that preliminary investigations showed the deceased suffered fatal injury on his head and body.
The deceased was reportedly with his friends drinking alcohol on Saturday night and that the incident was reported on Sunday morning.
