Australia’s Governor General and his good lady are in Samoa this week on a tour of the Forum Islands region to celebrate and further strengthen close bonds with Australia.

His Excellency General, David Hurley and good lady Linda Hurley, will highlight their time in Samoa with a visit on Sunday to the Head of State and Masiofo at their home residence at Matautu, Falelatai.

His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II and Masiofo Fa’amausili will accompany their distinguished guests to the early morning church service at the EFKS Church at Matautu, Falelatai.

Their Highnesses will then host luncheon at the village following the church service on the last formal event for the visitors before flying out of Samoa.

The official tour for the visiting Australian Governor General and his good lady gets under way today with visits to selected schools, with lunch hosted by the Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa and an evening reception by Australia’s High Commissioner in Samoa.

Samoa is one of 6 countries included in the official tour, the others are Tonga, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Cook Is and Vanuatu.
