The prominent chiefly title, Afioga Asi, in the traditional Vaimauga district, was bestowed in a ceremony this morning
The former CEO of the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour, Auelua Mr. Samuelu Enari, is the new title holder.
He was honoured, as the new bearer of the name in an official bestowal ceremony at the title’s ancestral home village of Moata’a.
Afioga Asi is generally regarded by tradition as the second highest ranked title in the Vaimauga District.
The large turnout at the ceremony.were made up of chiefs and orators, family members, friends, villagers and the general public.
Tradition requires the presence of the chiefly leadership to confirm cultural approval and blessings on the new title holder.
Asi Auelua Samuelu Enari is husband to the Governor of the Central Bank of Samoa, Maiava Atalina Enari.
