Busy streets of Apia are again under water with an on going series of bursting heavy rainfall.
Flood prone streets like Fugalei (pictured) are the first to slosh under rising water levels inching up quickly at every cloudburst.
The latest weather forecast is flooded with warnings of heavy rain, flooding, wind and rough seas.
Climate change is blamed with high tide stopping the water from draining out to sea the cause for repeated road flooding in prone areas like Fugalei and Saleufi to Taufusi.
The business community along the street is forced to find token relief behind sand bags at the doorways to keep the water out.
Sand bag walls are now an added sight in the front of almost every business house in the area.
Residents doing renovation work on their commercial premises are raising new building foundation several meters higher in response.
No concrete plans are in place yet except for road works along the affected streets purportedly to drain out the pooling water when the skies pour down its wet load.
The expansion of the township west of Apia to higher elevation at the Vaitele Industrial zone and beyond is currently getting a lot of talk as the only legitimate option.
